Reborn Turns 10: A Decade of Communities in Motion

September 2026

Re:born Turns 10! Celebrating a Decade of Communities in Motion

This year marks the 10th year of Re:born Dance Interactive.

Ten years ago, Re:born began with a yearning to create dance experiences I truly believed in, even when they didn't quite fit the mold of what dance was expected to look like, where it was expected to happen, or what the relationship between audience and performer could be.

I wanted to create work that invited people in. Work that could move beyond the stage, start conversations, build community, and use movement and intimate settings as a way of encountering one another. I wanted to bring people together in a place where everyone belonged, where barriers could be transcended and words weren't always needed. A place of connection, shared experience, and healing.

A place where our differences could exist alongside a shared experience, whether that meant recognizing ourselves in the same universal emotion a work was exploring, or simply being together in the same space at the same moment.

Ten years later, that desire is still at the heart of what we do.

And as we celebrate a decade of Re:born Dance Interactive, we're incredibly grateful to see the work continuing to grow.

Ten years of creating, moving, gathering, questioning, and connecting.  What began with a need to make dance differently has grown into Reborn Arts, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing meaningful, immersive arts experiences into our communities.

And this summer gave us quite a bit to celebrate.

CELEBRATING OUR ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

This summer also brought two exciting recognitions for Reborn Arts Founder and Artistic Director, Boróka Nagy.

Boróka received California Arts Council Artist Fellowship recognition, supporting her continued artistic practice and the creation of new work.

She was also selected by Arts Orange County to receive its 2026 Achievement Award – Emerging Artist and will be honored at the 26th Annual Orange County Arts Awards on Tuesday, September 29, at the Samueli Theater at Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

We would love to celebrate this moment surrounded by members of our Reborn community. Come join us! Balcony seats may be available only by phone.

AND NEXT... NIGHTFALL

A new Re:born work premieres January 2027

On Saturday, January 23, 2027 at 8 PM, Re:born Dance Interactive will premiere

Nightfall at the Irvine Barclay Theatre as part of Ignite Dance: A Celebration of Dance.

Nightfall explores the idea that something happens after the day ends.

When the lights go out and activity slows, is the world simply at rest, or is there work continuing that we do not see?

We are so excited to bring a brand-new Re:born work to the beautiful Barclay stage.

Save the date: January 23, 2027.

HERE'S TO THE NEXT TEN

A decade later, the heart of this work hasn't changed.

We believe dance can do more than be watched. It can bring people into a room who might not otherwise find themselves together. It can invite conversation, curiosity, empathy, connection, and healing. It can create community.

Thank you to every dancer who has stepped into the studio, every collaborator and organization that has opened a door, every donor who has believed in the value of this work, and every audience member who has been willing to experience it alongside us.

Ten years in, we're still creating, still questioning, still gathering people together, and still finding new possibilities for what dance can do.

We can't wait for what's next.

Here's to the next ten years of communities in motion.

With gratitude,

Boróka Nagy
