About the event

This piece includes references to war and conflict that may resonate emotionally for some viewers.

Inspired by Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities, this piece contrasts the need for peace in everyday life with the pursuit of power by global leaders.

Two tables define the work: a brown kitchen table, symbolizing the heart of everyday family life, and a green baize table, representing the impersonal logic of military strategy and the

tenuous structure of global order.

The tables mirror the duality within us all—the capacity to be both peacekeeper and destroyer. As the piece unfolds, these realities blur: the same person who protects peace at one table may hold the power to dismantle it at another.

You’ll notice moments where the dancers invite you to move with them—small, intentional gestures offering a chance to join the experience and reflect on connection. Please, participate to the best of your comfort level,…
